Come and experience the calm and silence of our wonderful Karoo at Verlatenkloof, 25km from Sutherland, where time seems to stand still and the hustle and bustle of the city becomes just a vague memory.On our guest farm we strive to create an atmosphere where guests not only feel at home, but also enjoy nature and the outdoors, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. As Verlatenkloof is also a working farm, our guests are often excited to see our old faithful Vaaljapie tractor working on the lucern fields, experience the wonder of a ewe lambing, or even just watch the geese, springbok & tortoise in our animal pen. Our guests are free to walk on the farm and also follow the sheep trail right to the top of the mountain where they can enjoy the wonderful view of rolling hills. So, remember to bring your camera, it’s a feast for the eye! Verlatenkloof forms the ideal base from which to explore the Sutherland area; to experience our beautiful mountain passes and/or to follow the trail of the Anglo Boer War. We stayed there for 2 days and it would have stayed more if they were not fully booked. Most of us arrived around midday on the Public Holiday, which made us all nice and relaxed to start with.
